I still have not received a corrected bill for the $319.56. On 2/2/23 I was called by the client relations department at Borgess where I was told my bill has been revised to $319.56. As a last resort, I filled out a complaint form on the Ascension Borgess Hospital website "Share your Experience". I requested a supervisor and after 48 additional minutes on hold, was told my account would be reviewed. After a 39 minute hold I spoke with a staff member who told me to wait another 30 days. Finally on 2/1/23 I was able to contact a Borgess staff member only after selecting the option that I was an insurance company requiring to speak to a staff member. On 1/31/23 I spent 42 minutes on hold for Borgess and hung up. On 1/30/23 I spent 25 minutes on hold attempting to contact Borgess and hung up. On 1/30/23 I received another bill from Borgess for $1,159.56. On 1/30/23, I received a response in writing from BCBS that I remain liable for paying $319.56 and Borgess as a participating provider must agreed to accept the BCBS allowed amount as payment in full. Eventhough Borgess was told by me and BCBS to put my account on hold due to the appeal, I continued to receive past due notices including on 1/30/23, stating my account is in default and will be assigned to a collection agency. On 11/15/22 I filed a formal appeal with BCBS since provider refused to decrease the bill from $1,159.56 to $319.56. BCBS continued to advise me I owed $319.56 and Borgess under contract cannot charge me more than that. 3-way call from BCBS to Borgess ordering Borgess to reduce my bill. Emailed Borgess my EOB from Blue Cross Blue Shield twice. Per my insurance Blue Cross Blue Shield Explanation of Benefits (EOB), I owe $319.56 for this service.
